Random Snaps Over The Weekend

On writing this on Sunday night and I honestly don't know where the weekend has gone. It's been an odd one that's for sure. Not for any particular reason other than it just was... How vague was that comment haha.

happy solez

It all started on Friday which started busy and then dropped off. I went to class, then the doctors about my stomach issues (yet again), and then I naughtily went shopping before heading and staying home until dinner with my friend teatime. I just needed to chill out and avoid the library. I've been doing great so far, by keeping on top of everything and being well prepared. And so far I think my hard work is paying off...I just need to keep plodding, plodding along for the entire semester - fingers crossed!

But because I've been spending so long in the library I sort of feel as though I am missing out on other things. Like the gym, my usual eating pattern and fresh air haha. But I think I've come up with a compromise too all these things, something that will give the balance I need.

I wish I could get to the gym everyday, but honestly the thought of having to either wash my hair everyday or deal with greasy hair the next day isn't enticing in the slightest! In the summer I didn't mind. I had time to kill and working out, then taking a shower fit into my schedule. Now, however, it does not. And I am beginning to learn that that luxury I once had isn't in my immediate future. In a few months time I am going to be a graduate and from what I've heard and what is just common sense, entering the working world doesn't leave much time for a sweaty gym session everyday. So I guess that it's better to learn to balance sooner rather than later, right? Any other students out there having the same problems?

But like I said I am just splitting my days. Both are a priority but for different reasons.

My health, my children & family and my happiness. My priorities

So far it's kind of working, which kind of explains my weekend. I didn't feel too well after the meal Friday. We kept it cheap and simple with a trip to the Harvester (unpictured). But after one pint of beer my stomach had twisted itself into many knots etc  and I was in a lot of pain. This meant I got back, crashed on my bed and never got back up again. And apart from being in tremendous pain it was bliss to just sit back lie down and relax.

In the end I didn't get to sleep until about one and that meant I had six hours sleep until the dreaded alarm. Which never came because I must of a.) not set it or b.)turned it off and rolled back over or c.) I set it but my phone plays up and it didn't go off. It's either a or c. We will never know. But luckily I woke up for some reason or rhyme at 07:47 in a blind panic of it's light outside which means I'm late for work. I usually leave at 08:00 so that I am there for 08:30, but I didn't end up leaving until 08:07. To be honest I am surprised I got ready so quick. There was no make-up or time to style my hair. I brushed my teeth and hair, then threw my work clothes on and ran (well, walked fast) to work. And surprisingly I wasn't late...

That anecdote basically sums up my weekend...

Saturday I got back after work, and in an attempt not to fall asleep I showered then cleaned. Kind-of a bizarre order to do things, but I refused to nap and throw off or waste the rest of the day. The shower woke me up, and for some reason I just needed to clean something/anything. I instigated a cleaning of all the communal areas and thoroughly blitzed my room. I got rid of clothes I never wear and the only thing left to sort out is a couple of drawers of paperwork.

Then on Sunday I lay in until 11:30, again it was bliss. Although I had previously woken up at 06:15 and read for an hour, I'm so glad that I went back to sleep. Then I got up and done something I haven't in ages. I broke out my new yoga mat and started stretching, which I then followed up with some ab exercises and you know what...it felt great. Why in the world was I putting it off? Silly me.

And then from there on I've just caught up on everything blog and YouTube related...

Then it was time for the weekly food shop.

And these are the random pics I snapped over the weekend...

It's Been a Fast-Paced Sort of Weekend...

and week in general for that matter. A lot seemed to be going on. A quick run down is I went for an interview for a part-time job and got it. Yay. In the mist of the job interview, training and indeed starting on Saturday, I drove home. I was meant to go home on the Wednesday and go back to my mom's home made stew, but because the training was the following day after the interview I couldn't leave until Thursday afternoon.

Looking back and writing this it's no wonder I felt tired this weekend haha.

The reason for my driving back home was because of the Birmingham Arctic Monkeys gig, which for those who don't know or don't care it got cancelled, and then finally rescheduled for later this month. Damn I was fuming there was a bit of controversy surrounding the bands cancellation. Since they were out at a music awards ceremony the night before and there were still photos of them out partying at 4am it was a little suspect to tell the truth. But when they finally released a statement they said that the lead singer Alex Turner had got laryngitis. Now having had Laryngitis a few years ago on my first week of College I am aware that it isn't something that is just sprung on you, and in fact you feel it coming on in the days if not week prior. The usual symptoms are fevers, cold sweats, feeling like you have the flu etc.

Anyways, (can you tell I'm finally over the unnecessary trip home, not?) what a waste of petrol! I wouldn't have minded if they had told everyone that the gig was being cancelled at 2pm in the afternoon when people were just leaving to get there, but an hour before when the doors are open is just ridiculous! Luckily, since my mom was paying £60 for a taxi there and back for me and my little sister, we received the message just as we were getting into the taxi.

That's right when I got the message I was actually checking the postcode with my driver.

Crazy stuff.

Well that's not where I want MIMM to go, so I shall rein my tangent of a rant in and show you all the marvellous that made a frequent appearance in my weekend. Happy MIMM guys!

thehealthydiva1  First Marvelous in My Monday {yay}

After my first shift on Saturday morning, which didn't go too bad, I treated myself to a Costa coffee *unpictured* (mainly because I drank it so fast!) and a bath bomb from Lush. I ended up getting my usual and favourite coffee, which is a medium latte with a pump of caramel. I really need to branch out when it comes to coffee, I am terrible when it comes to getting in a coffee rut!

Anyways...

From Lush I got the Cinder bath bomb, which basically smells like Christmas in a ball of greatness.

*sorry about the chipped nail varnish*

Then on the evening we went to a firework display, since it was Bonfire/Firework here the UK. This is the holiday I prefer before Christmas since I am not a fan of Halloween #sorryi'mnotsorry. I was just living in the moment and only took a couple and very poor photos.

When we got back I had a shower to feel human again and then we made Pizza and wedges, which you may have seen on my instagram. It was delicious and so good we had leftovers the next day. Along side the pizza I enjoy a glass or two of red wine, which was such a nice treat after a stressful week.

Of course this is how my Sunday began, and I had to have a dollop of Nutella. But now looking at it, it looks huge?! Hmm..I guess my excuse is it's been a long week?

My Sunday consisted of tidying the house starting with my bedroom and then doing some team work to get the rest of the house and shared rooms in tiptop shape. This basically took all day and I also caught up on the Rugby and some other shows. Then on the night I had a bath using my bomb. It smelt good, but not strong enough for my liking.

It turned my bath YELLOW. At one point I was worried it was going to stain! And it did ever so slightly...whoops.

And then I ended the weekend like all weekends should be ended; watching episode 4 of Masters of Sex (not as bad as it sounds, promise haha) and eating a slice of New York Cheese, whilst sipping on a glass of red. Oh and also using a face mask, and doing my nails.

And now I am ready to tackle another week.

Have you ever tried anything from Lush? If so what?

What's your favourite Pizza topping?

Katie thank you for being a great hostess as always :-D

What's Better Than Friendship?

And Monday's are back with force! Well for me they are anyways, as I have two different classes today. Yep Mondays will be one of my busiest days of the week from now on. And the way in which my timetable has turned out this year means that I am taking lots of my CAT's in the first semester and not so many next semester. Which means the pressure is on to get the grades I want consistently across my classes.

Not a lot happened this weekend to be honest, so I thought I'd just share a couple of photos from Thursday night when we went out for Fresher's week.

It was a great night had by all, but the late nights finally got to us last night, when everyone decided to retire early. Marvellous is definitely friendship. Especially friendships when there's no thinking too hard about what you say or the way you behave, but friendships that let you just be you. That's especially a marvellous thing, and something that is often a rarity yet we are lucky enough to have!

Thanks to Katie as always for hosting this meet up : D It always gives me a chance to reflect back on what has been marvellous and what I am valuing as of late. And it reminds me of how lucky I am!

Happy MIMM guys :-D

Did anyone else go out for Freshers?

Are anybody else's Mondays busy or otherwise about to be?
