Friend Makin Mondays #2

This is my second time joining in with this blogger link up, but I love the questions and I enjoy considering my answers because at times I struggle to answer them and sometimes they are a breeze.

1. Does your blog have an overwhelming theme?

My blog is mainly about my battle with my weight and what I am doing currently to find balance and finally lose the weight and keep it off. But I also add in other aspects of my life and the things I am interested in like beauty and clothes etc.

2. How did you come up with the theme(s) for your blog? Was it intentional?

I started the blog for accountability to myself.

3. Share something cool that has happened in your life as a result of blogging.

My blog is fairly new. I began it last year when I was at an all time low, trying to find a way to come back from the pit I was digging myself in. But since taking it seriously and putting more effort into it, it's good not to feel alone in many ways especially talking to people who like the same things you do.

4. How much time do you spend reading blogs everyday?

The answer is probably too much. I am a big fan of peoples blogs who post everyday. I know that's not practical for many, but I enjoy shorter more frequent posts from bloggers than longer posts every now and again. But I have my usual blogs that I read saved in my favourites tab in order of who I know posts frequently etc. But I'd say time wise I spend an hour maybe longer if I have my laptop out. Sometimes, I just have to tell myself not to check today!

5. Do you blog on weekends?

If I have access I blog or if I have something that's on my mind and I want to write it down I blog. But I love blogger link ups the best, which are mainly at the beginning of the week. But I don't have a rule in place that says no blogging on weekends.

6. Do you keep track of your stats?  Do they matter to you?

Like I said it's a new blog and so this is all new for me, but I like knowing that people are reading what I write. But I like comments the best, sharing with people then them sharing something back.

7. How do you decide how much to share about your personal life?

Some things I like to stay private, just because that's the way I am in actual life. But the blogs about my struggles, especially with my weight, and so I try and be as honest as I can be and not beautify anything that's happening because that's not natural and that's not life. Plus that's what I like about the blogs I read the authenticity behind them that make them feel real.

8. Do you aspire to be a writer, or did blogging happen for some other reason?

Well, at the moment I am midway through my University degree, doing a joint in English Lit and Creative Writing and so I love to write anyways naturally. I also keep a journal which is the most personal thing I write. So, I am used to writing from one end of the spectrum to the other, both academically and personally. But like I said the decision to start a blog, kind of came from the idea of wanting to keep a public journal of sorts. Where people reading aren't close friends or family and so have a different outlook on your life. But I love writing and hope it will always be part of my life both professionally career wise and personally through my blog and journalling.

9. As a blogger, do you think it’s more important to write for yourself, or for your readers?

It's weird because although I blog, and it's my own thoughts and words you see on the screen, I don't yet feel like an actual blogger. I know it's crazy, but I don't feel as though I have the experience yet. It's like I love sport but I wouldn't call myself an athlete - maybe one day I'll be able to call myself both.

Ok, back from my spiralling tangent... I write for me at this point of time. Just to put my thoughts out there (down on paper so to speak). I'm a person that through writing I open up, rather than keeping it all to myself and overloading my brain with constant random thoughts until I blow emotionally. This way I get everything out and it allows me to move on and feel lighter emotionally.

10.What kind of plans do you have for the future of your blog?

Errm, this is a good question. I guess just to keep blogging and joining in with the blogger link-ups like I have been doing over the past month. Because like I've said when I'm writing I feel lighter emotionally and that benefits me in all areas of my life.

Wow. I really enjoyed answering these questions this week. I had the time to really ponder than answer the questions. It's amazing what you can do when you've got time.

Can't wait for next week. And can't wait to read everyone else's answers.

Enjoy your week guys!
